1. Data protection at a glance

Protecting your data matters to us. kittyscout.com is built to collect as little as possible: the content and the tools work without a user account. Interactive tools evaluate your input entirely in your browser — it is neither transmitted to us nor stored. Data is processed only through the technical retrieval of the website (server logs) and, after your consent, by the statistics and marketing services described below.

3. Hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare)

This website is hosted by a hosting provider in Germany. Personal data is stored on that provider’s servers, including IP addresses, contact enquiries, metadata and communication data.

In addition we use Cloudflare Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) as a content delivery network (CDN) and security service. Cloudflare analyses traffic in order to detect and repel attacks such as DDoS.

Transfer to the USA: Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequate level of protection pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR).

4. Server log files

When you access our website, our provider automatically records information in server log files:

  • browser type and version
  • operating system
  • referrer URL (the page visited before)
  • host name of the accessing device
  • time of the server request
  • IP address

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in trouble-free operation).
Retention: 7 days. This data is not combined with other sources.

5. Cookies and tracking (consent layer)

We use cookies and comparable technologies (web beacons, local storage). We distinguish between essential services and those that require consent.

Essential cookies: technically necessary to operate the website (for example storing your consent decision and spam protection on forms). They are set without consent. Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Services requiring consent (statistics, marketing): these are loaded only after your express consent via our consent layer. A list of all third parties is available there — including provider address, purpose of processing, cookies, retention period and recipients. Automatic blocking of unknown trackers: by default our consent tool blocks all third-party scripts and tracking pixels that have not been explicitly released — including those not yet known to us. Content is loaded only after you consent to the service in question.
